亲爱的同事、朋友们以及各位嘉宾：

大家好！我是Yunnan Gao博士，非常荣幸担任英国腐蚀学会（简称 ICorr）的主席。自1959年学会成立以来，我感到无比自豪，成为首位华人主席。

我谨代表ICorr，向各位致以最诚挚的问候。ICorr是全球领先的专业组织之一，致力于推动腐蚀科学、工程与技术的发展。更重要的是，ICorr始终以“连接人与知识”为核心，鼓励合作与创新。

过去几年里，我们与中国腐蚀与防护学会（CSCP）建立了紧密而深远的合作关系。对我个人而言，最难忘的时刻之一是2024年10月访问西安——当时ICorr与CSCP签署了合作备忘录（MoU），为双方合作开启了激动人心的新篇章。

自那以后，我们共同取得了丰硕成果：

◆ 2024年11月，我们首次举办了ICorr–CSCP线上研讨周，获得了圆满成功；

◆ 2025年5月，我有幸在北京举行的首届“人工智能助力材料腐蚀与防护国际会议”上发表开幕致辞；

◆ 2025年6月，我们在英国热情欢迎了CSCP副理事长来访，加强了双方的交流；

◆ 2025年8月，我与欧洲腐蚀联合会主席一同访问了CSCP；

◆ 2025年9月，我们在曼彻斯特举办了首届“中英腐蚀高峰论坛”，并共同出席了在挪威斯塔万格举行的EFC大会；

不久之后，我也将再次来到西安，出席2025年11月举办的“第十三届全国腐蚀与防护大会”，倍感期待。

近年来，中国科研人员在腐蚀科学与防护技术领域取得了卓越成就，并在多个方向上引领了国际发展潮流。

一个杰出的例子是李晓刚教授，他首创的“腐蚀大数据理论”获得了国际广泛认可。他的H指数高达107，是全球腐蚀领域最高纪录；同时，他还荣获国际腐蚀理事会设立的最高荣誉——Marcel Pourbaix奖，成为30年来唯一获此殊荣的华人学者。

这些成就充分体现了中国腐蚀科学研究群体的实力、才华与日益增强的国际影响力。

我谨代表英国腐蚀学会，向本次“全国腐蚀与防护大会”致以最热烈的祝贺和最美好的祝愿。

Dear colleagues, friends, and distinguished guests,

My name is Dr. Yunnan Gao, and I’m truly honoured to serve as the President of the Institute of Corrosion - ICorr. I’m especially proud to be the first Chinese President since the Institute was founded back in 1959.

It’s a real pleasure to share my warmest greetings with you all on behalf of ICorr. ICorr is one of the world’s leading professional organizations dedicated to advancing corrosion science, engineering, and technology - and at its heart, it’s about bringing people together to share knowledge, collaborate, and innovate.

Over the past few years, we’ve built a particularly strong and meaningful partnership with the Chinese Society for Corrosion and Protection - CSCP. A highlight for me personally was visiting Xi’an in October 2024, when ICorr and CSCP signed a Memorandum of Understanding, opening an exciting new chapter of collaboration.

Since then, we’ve achieved so much together:

◆ Our first  ICorr–CSCP Webinar Week in November 2024 was a great success.

◆ In May 2025, I had the honour of giving the opening speech at the first      International Conference of AI for Materials Corrosion and Protection in Beijing.

◆ In June, we welcomed CSCP’s Vice President to the UK - a wonderful opportunity to strengthen our bonds.

◆ In August, alongside the President of the European Federation of Corrosion, I visited CSCP in China.

◆ Then, in September, we held the first UK-China Corrosion Summit in Manchester, followed by our joint participation at the EFC Conference in Stavanger,  Norway.

◆ And very soon, I’m delighted to be joining you again here in Xi’an for this prestigious China Corrosion Conference in November 2025.

In recent years, Chinese researchers have made outstanding contributions to corrosion science and protection technology, leading the way globally in several areas. A shining example is Professor Li Xiaogang and his pioneering corrosion big data theory, which has earned wide international recognition. His H-factor has reached an impressive 107 - the highest among corrosion researchers worldwide - and he was awarded the prestigious Marcel Pourbaix Award from the International Corrosion Council. He is the only Chinese scholar to have received this honour in its 30-year history.

These achievements are a testament to the strength, talent, and growing global influence of China’s corrosion research community.

On behalf of ICorr, I extend my heartfelt congratulations and warmest wishes for a truly successful China Corrosion Conference.
